On Friday the new Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos was physically blocked by protesters as she attempted to enter a public school. The Protest was organized by the Washington Teacher’s Union. The Teacher’s Union said their protesters were not the ones that blocked her.
According to the local news WJLA:
The union, who said they did not support DeVos’ nomination, also stated that they hoped she would be successful. They said if DeVos succeeds in her new role then everyone succeeds – including all public schools and teachers.
Here is the video of Secretary DeVos being blocked:
DeVos was able to access the school from another entrance and left the school around noon.
