Pelosi and Dems Get Embarrassed by Twitter Hoax

With the amount of commenting the President and other political figures do on Twitter these days, you would think this wouldn’t happen. Especially since Twitter uses a blue checkmark that verifies the user separating them from hoax accounts. Someone may want to give House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Elijah Cummings a quick tutorial on how all that works.

Fox News reports that after Michael Flynn resigned on Monday for lying to VP Pence a twitter account opened Tuesday @GenMikeFlynn which made a statement regarding his resignation.

“While I accept full responsibility for my actions, I feel it is unfair that I have been made the sole scapegoat for what happened. But if a scapegoat is what’s needed for this administration to continue to take this great nation forward, I am proud to do my duty,” the account tweeted in a pair of messages.

Then on Tuesday during a new conference, Pelosi and Cummings used these tweet to support the launch of an investigation on Flynn.

“Madam Leader, just this morning, Flynn tweeted, and this is a quote, ‘scapegoat,’ end of quote. Scapegoat. He basically described himself as a scapegoat,” said Cummings, D-Md.

Pelosi, D-Calif., added: “I have a tweet, I’m going to make, I’m telling my staff right now – it’s not scapegoat, it’s stonewall. And that’s exactly what the Republicans in Congress are doing.”

The only problem is that Michael Flynn’s real verified twitter account is @GenFlynn. Pelosi and Cummings did admit their mistake. Twitter users launched on Pelosi and Cummings for making the mistake as well as the fake twitter handle.

The lesson here folks are don’t believe everything you read and check your facts before you comment. Just like here if you ever disagree and have hesitations click on the source link. Of course, I would expect behavior like Pelosi’s who was the one who couldn’t figure out how to use a microphone at ‘Travel Ban’ protest.
